Dancing on a volcano – the unspoken scientific endeavour

Explainables associate Dan Bower grew up in the home of a Genesis fan (his Dad), and he recently rediscovered the track "Dance on a volcano" which is known for switching between unusual time signatures. Dan adopted the title of this song as inspiration for explaining how science proceeds in practice---it is much akin to dancing on a volcano. Just like the song itself, scientific research involves skips and jumps and changes in rhythm.
